TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve proposed amendments to the Planning and Zoning Commission Bylaws. Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Planning and Zoning Commission Bylaws current structure requires a Chair and Vice-Chair to be selected after 30 days of seating of the new Commissioner during an election year, and during a non-election year, the Commission shall elect a Chair and Vice-Chair at the first meeting in October.

To allow additional time for the Commissioners to elect a Chair and Vice-Chair and to not confuse the process and procedure during an election and non-election year, the Commission recommended changes to the bylaws by revising the language from 30 days to 60 days to elect a Chair and Vice-Chair after seating and to simplify the process during a non-election year, the Chair and Vice-Chair term is one (1) year, except when seating after a City Council election.

This item will be presented by Economic and Community Development, Deputy Director, Rodolfo Lopez.
