TITLE

An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, amending Section 2.15.150(A) of the Maricopa City Code related to the established standing Budget and Finance Council Subcommittee and providing for severability and the effective date thereof.  Discussion and Action.  

 

 

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve Ordinance 25-12, a request by the City of Maricopa to amend Section 2.15.150(A) related to the scope of the standing budget and finance council subcommittee. The purpose of this change will allow for budget reviews to be held and executed as work sessions with the entirety of the City Council instead of with just the three member subcommittee.  The Budget and Finance Committee assignment has routinely been a popular request for City Council Members, allowing for the City to now consider the involvement of all Council members wishing to partake in the budget process.  The Budget and Finance Committee will continue to review financial policies and complete other tasks as appropriate to advise Council on such items.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends Council adopt ORD25-12.
