TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action to approve a Map of Dedication, Case #MOD25-04, dedicating to the City of Maricopa, the necessary right-of-way for the extension of N. Maricopa Road, a collector road, south of W. Honeycutt Avenue.  Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

A request by City of Maricopa for approval of a Map of Dedication, dedicating to the City of Maricopa, the necessary right-of-way, utility easements, and drainage features for a collector road extension of N. Maricopa Rd. The property is generally located at the southwest corner of N. Maricopa Rd. and W. Honeycutt Avenue.

The new right-of-way will allow for the intersection at Maricopa Road and Honeycutt Avenue to become a four-way intersection, and will realign the fourth leg of the intersection into the existing intersection. Improvements will be made with development of the adjacent property, which will add to the existing traffic signal so that it can be utilized for all four legs of the intersection. Maricopa Road will dead end south of this intersection, at the parking lot of the First Baptist Church. Once these improvements are completed, access to John Wayne Parkway will be removed, thereby providing safer traveling conditions for the public.
