TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action on approving a first amendment to IGA 25-01 with the Town of Gilbert for Fire Service trainings for the cost increase from $4,500 to $5,000 for the Recruit Training Academy. Discussion and Action.

 

 

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

Training for Firefighter recruits is becoming more expensive across the region. For our regional academy, hosted by the Town of Gilbert, the fee has increased from $4,500 to $5,000 per recruit. This increase in fee can be managed within the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Fire/Medical Department budget for Education and Training. However, because this item also requires an amendment to an Intergovernmental Agreement, it is required to be approved by the City Council.

 

 

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the approval of the first amendment to the IGA 25-01 with the Town of Gilbert for the Recruit Academy training fee increase.
