TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of Maricopa and Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), for the construction of Murphy Road and Hartman Road from the Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) boundary to Honeycutt Road. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The project includes approximately 1.6 miles of chip sealed roadway over compacted ABC and drainage improvements. The project construction cost is estimated at $1,441,439, which includes $758,932 federal funding and $682,507 local agency match.
The City will administer the design at their own cost, and ADOT will advertise, bid, award, and administer the construction of the project due to the federal funding requirements.
In the event construction costs exceed the total construction budget, the City will be responsible for the entire amount that exceeds the $758,932 federal funds.
The funding for the design of the project will be drawn from GL# 35056161-67755-40142 with the funding for the construction of the project being budgeted in the CIP budget for fiscal year 24/25. The FY25 budget is tentatively approved and will be available on July 1, 2024.
Construction of the roadway is expected to occur in Fall 2025.
