TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action on recommending approval to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for an application for a special event liquor license provided by Brenda Campbell to allow Roots Eatery to serve alcohol during a special event known as Copa Cultural on February 21, 2026 at Copper Sky, 44345 W. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, Maricopa AZ 85138. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The state of Arizona department of Liquor Licenses and Control requires that an application for a special event license be approved by local government before submission to their office.
In preparation for Copa Cultural that is planned for February 21, 2026 at Copper Sky, Brenda Campbell has applied for the City Council's consideration in recommending approval for the special event liquor license.
This is a returning signature event in celebration of the city's anniversary and its diverse community and cultures. A celebration of this kind is important to building a thriving, connected community, and being able to incorporate alcoholic beverages in the beer garden provides a unique element of the event when blended with live entertainment. We will not be charging for parking and strongly encouraging complimentary shuttle service.
