TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve an award of contract to EPS Group, Inc. for design services for the Edison Road Improvements project in an amount not to exceed $396,505. This award is in accordance with City of Maricopa Purchasing Code, Article IV, Section 3-215, Bidding Procedure. The funding for the project will be drawn from Transportation DIF 1 Fund, Public Works, Design Service-Street Project (32444146-67755). Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The project consists of extending Edison Road from Roosevelt Avenue to SR 238, including intersection improvements and upgrades to SR 238 to facilitate traffic flow. Edison Road, when fully improved, will consist of two thru lanes in each direction, landscaped medians, detached sidewalks, and street lighting.
The extension of Edison road will provide an alternate route for traffic connecting from SR 238 to SR 347. It will also put in place the infrastructure backbone for the development of the Estrella Gin property, provide direct access to SR 238 for Fire Station 575, and provide connectivity to the planned Amtrak station relocation, south of Garvey Avenue.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Mayor and City Council approve an award of contract to EPS Group, Inc. for design services for the Edison Road Improvements project in an amount not to exceed $396,505.
