TITLE
A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, adopting amendments to the City's Facility Rentals Policy. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The Facility Rentals Policy was adopted on 10/03/2023. This policy established parameters for rates, and the manner in which they may be discounted, but did not determine exact rates or fees to be set. It also set some basic guidelines for the rental of facilities, including the base rate/local business rate, resident/non-profit rate at 35% discount and the non-resident rate at 200% of the base rate.
Staff presented to City Council on 1/21/25 discussing a revised Facility Rental Policy, and received feedback to include a reduced off-peak discount rate. Staff have also presented to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, Cultural Affairs and Arts Advisory Committee, and the Senior Advisory Committee in 11/25 and received additional feedback. Upon review of utilization rates of facilities, and feedback from City Council, Advisory Committees, and members of the public, staff have proposed the revisions of the policy to include a discount for Youth and Adult Recreational Leagues, Off-Peak hours, programming, and tournaments.

Staff recommends approval of the revised Facility Rental Policy for the rental of city facilities.
