TITLE
An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, adopting "Article 8-6 Auctioneers, Pawnbrokers, Scrap Dealers, and Secondhand Dealers" and "Article 8-7 Tobacco Retail Establishments" by reference as Articles 8-6 and 8-7 of Chapter 8 of the Maricopa City Code and providing for severability and the effective date thereof. AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
During the May 20 City Council Work Session, staff requested Mayor and City Council direction regarding proposed business regulations, licensing procedures and fees for (1) Tobacco Retail Establishments and (2) Auctioneers, Pawnbrokers, Scrap Dealers and Secondhand Dealers. City Council directed staff to provide public notice of the proposed fees, in accordance with A.R.S. Section 9-499.15, and City Code amendments for possible consideration of adoption at a future City Council meeting.
Staff is now requesting that the Mayor and City Council consider the proposed regulations, licensing procedures and fees for adoption.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Mayor and City Council approve the Resolution and the Ordinance to adopt "Article 8-6. Auctioneers, Pawnbrokers, Scrap Dealers, and Secondhand Dealers" and "Article 8-7. Tobacco Retail Establishments" by reference as Articles 8-6 and 8-7 of Maricopa City Code - Chapter 8: Business Regulations as well as the Resolution to establish the fee schedules for licensing of these special business types.
