TITLE
An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, amending Section 2-82(3)(a) of the Maricopa City Code to add the Legislative Affairs Council Subcommittee. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Staff recommends that the City Council support the establishment of the Legislative Affairs Subcommittee. The subcommittee shall be composed of three members of the city council.
The city clerk shall serve as the secretary to the committee and maintain minutes as a permanent record.
The committee shall meet on call of the mayor or city manager.
The legislative committee shall prepare annually, a legislative program for consideration by council, setting forth the legislative needs of the city.
Once such program is adopted by the council, the committee shall, in coordination with the city attorney and city manager or his designee, work to advance and promote the program.
CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATION
The City Manager recommends approval of this item.
