TITLE

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The project includes the design of a 52,000-54,000 square foot Multi-Generation Center and a 10,000 square foot Swim Facility on approximately 8-10 acres of land. Amenities include: senior center, indoor gym, fitness, racquetball courts, walking track, multi purpose/mini banquet hall, classrooms, lap pool, family pool, slides, splash pad, concession stands, parking lot, etc. The project may also include design of needed infrastructure to the overall site (i.e. water, sewer and electrical utilities and roadwork). The design team will also be responsible for researching and producing a White Paper/Report on Operational Characteristics of this type of facility. The report will also include pros and cons to operating ourselves versus an outside agency and financial comparisons.

Selection Process
Per Arizona State Law, a Request for Statement of Qualifications (RSOQ) solicitation was used to select the Design firm. A seven person evaluation committee was established that consisted of three City employees plus a member of the Parks, Recreation and Libraries Advisory Committee, Abacus (City's Program Manager), a registered professional architect and a principal of a commercial licensed general contractor.
