AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The State of Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control requires that an Application for Special Event License be approved by local government before submission to their office.
In preparation for the Grape Escape wine tasting fundraising event that is planned for Friday, October 12 at Province Community Center, Wendy Webb, the Executive Director of F.O.R. Maricopa Food Bank and Resource Center has submitted an application for Council consideration in recommending approval for the special event liquor license.
This is an annual fundraising event to support the local food bank that has been held in various locations in our community. Staff has reviewed, commented and met with the applicant regarding their event plan. Everything is moving forward in the planning process to ensure satisfaction and safety of all parties.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Mayor and City Council consider the approval to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for a Special Event Liquor License for the Grape Escapes on October 12, 2012.
