TITLE
The City Council shall discuss and take action on approving a renewal of the Intergovernmental Agreement for the Regional Metropolitan Phoenix Fire Service Automatic Aid. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City of Maricopa Fire and Medical Department is currently a part of an IGA for the Phoenix Metropolitan Phoenix Fire Automatic Aid system. The current agreement expires on December 19th, 2022 and, if approved, will be replaced with this current IGA agreement which will be up for renewal on December 20th, 2032. This agreement maintains the current level of service to the citizens and promotes consistency in the region for training, staffing, resource allocation, dispatch, incident management, minimum fire company standards, command procedures, and communications. This agreement maintains the departments participation in the Central Arizona Life Safety Council and it's subcommittees which allows for the department to have significant input on changes to the regional automatic aid systems standard operational procedures.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of this Automatic Aid Agreement.
