TITLE
An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, adopting the document filed with the City Clerk and entitled "2026 Amendments to Title 10: Vehicle and Traffic" by reference to add Section 10.20.100 regarding Obedience to Markings; double parking prohibited and vehicle type restrictions to the Maricopa City Code and providing for severability and the effective date thereof. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
A request by the City of Maricopa for review and approval of a proposed text amendment to the Maricopa City Code, Title 10: Vehicle and Traffic. Discussion and Action.
This is a request to formally amend the Maricopa City Code requesting a text revision to Chapter 10. The City initiated text amendment will allow for continued refinement of the City Code to reflect changes in policies and procedures, allow for clerical corrections, and address the overall accuracy and usability of the code. More specifically, the proposed amendment would accomplish the following:
1. Updates Section 10.20.100 of the City Code to be consistent with current development trends and standards.
Section 10.20.100 - Obedience to Markings - Establishes regulations regarding the unlawful parking of a vehicle(s) in off-street parking facilities and maintained in accordance with MCC 18.105.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends City Council concur with the Planning and Zoning Commission and approve ORD26-12, an amendment to Title 10- Vehicle and Traffic of the Maricopa City Code, as outlined in Exhibit A and contained in the City Council staff report Dated June 14, 2026.
