TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approval of a contract with Pavement Markings, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $187,200.00 for striping of City streets. Funding will be drawn from ½ Cent Road Tax Fund-Transportation, Street Projects-Capital, Street Maintenance (30055155-67750-34005). This contract, which is based on Yuma County Contract No. C2015-2016CY.02, is in compliance with City of Maricopa Purchasing Code Article IV, Section 3-223 "Cooperative Purchasing." AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Pavement markings have reflective properties within the paint that allow them to be seen driving at night. Over time, these reflective properties fade and need to be refreshed.
A significant portion of this contract will add pavement markings to collector streets within subdivisions for bike lane facilities. Staff recommends this action to advance multimodal goals set forth in the Area Transportation Plan and General Plan.
