TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approving a purchase from Chapman Ford for one (1) 2015 Ford 4Wheel Drive Explorer for the City of Maricopa Fire Department pursuant to Section 3-223, Cooperative Purchasing, of the City Code, in an amount not to exceed $37,500.00. The purchase will be paid from Fire Development Impact Fees (DIF) Fund, Fire Support, Vehicles (34422528-67742-32012). Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
This request is to purchase One (1) 2015 Ford Explorer 4 WD SUV and will be assigned to EMS. This vehicle is essential for EMS and Administrative day-to-day operations. It is used to transport EMS Supplies and for attending meetings with base hospital and Department of Health Service. This vehicle is used for community events and for public education activities.
This purchase is being requested in conjunction with the Fire Department fleet replacement schedule. The purchased SUV will replace an Expedition which will be used for volunteers to assist Maricopa Fire. Approval of this request will enhance public safety and assist in the daily operations in the fire department.
This request is based on Section 3-223 "Cooperative Purchasing" of the City Code. Staff seeks to utilize Arizona State Procurement Office Contract No. ADSPO12-01662 to procure the 2015 Ford Explorer. The purchase price for the SUV is not to exceed $37,500.
