TITLE
A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona authorizing and directing the acquisition of all property necessary for the completion of the widening of Honeycutt Road within the city limits of Maricopa by dedication, donation, purchase exchange or under the power of eminent domain as a matter of public necessity. Discussion and Action.
 
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City of Maricopa owns and maintains Honeycutt Road and desires to protect and provide for the continued and increasing use of Honeycutt Road by the public. The City anticipates expending considerable public funds in the construction, maintenance and improvements of Honeycutt Road and in the design of improvements of Honeycutt Road east of and at the intersection of John Wayne Parkway. This Resolution is necessary to establish that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona has found that it may be necessary to take private property for these public purposes.
 
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council approval of this Resolution declaring the completion of the widening of Honeycutt Road a matter of public necessity.
