TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall hear public comment regarding the proposed adoption of the International Code Council 2012 Building Codes as Chapter 7 of the Maricopa City Code.
 
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The 2012 International Building Codes encompass the best practices in public health and safety for new or proposed construction.  They improve staff's ability to deliver quality customer service through correlation with other international codes, and support consistency in the use and enforcement of these by owners, designers, architects, developers, contractors, engineers, code officials and the community.
 
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City conduct a Public Hearing for the proposed adoption of the International Code Council 2012 Building Codes.
