TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of Maricopa Police Department and Pinal County acting through the Pinal County Sheriff's Office for a five (5) year contract to enhance law enforcement services concerning illegal drug activity.  Discussion and Action.

 

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) will require the Maricopa Police Department assign one (1) certified sworn law enforcement officer to the Pinal County Narcotics Task Force (PCNTF), a multi-agency narcotics task force, to provide appropriate law enforcement action to combat, detect, investigate and deter illegal drug crimes.

 

This item will be presented by James Hughes, Police Chief.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the Mayor and City Council approve and enter into an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) between the City of Maricopa Police Department and Pinal County acting through the Pinal County Sheriff's Office for a five (5) year contract to enhance law enforcement services concerning illegal drug activity.
