The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on entering into an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Maricopa and Seven Ranches Domestic Water Improvement District for the relocation of a water transmission main in conflict with the construction of improvements to widen Honeycutt Road. AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The Seven Ranches Domestic Water Improvement District (SRDWID) maintains a water transmission main in existing easements along the south side of Honeycutt Road; that is the sole water source for homeowners and businesses within the Seven Ranches community in Maricopa. The upcoming construction of improvements to widen Honeycutt Road between Porter Road and White and Parker Road will require the relocation of the existing water main.
The Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of Maricopa and SRDWID states that the City and SRDWID agree to work cooperatively to ensure that an uninterrupted water supply be provided to property owners within SRDWID's service territory by constructing improvements to relocate the water transmission main. The costs associated with the relocation were included in the Honeycutt Road widening project's budget.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Mayor and City Council approve the IGA between the City of Maricopa and the Seven Ranches Water Improvement District for the relocation of a water transmission main in conflict with the construction of improvements to widen Honeycutt Road.
