TITLE
The Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, shall discuss and take action to clarify that the Annual Budget discussion on Compensation Adjustments was intended to include all employee groups, including those with a contract and whose pay is set through resolution. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City of Maricopa contracted with Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc. to conduct a comprehensive classification and compensation study. The study was a total rewards study, including market data on pay and applicable benefits.
The Council-approved fiscal year 25/26 Annual Budget included funding to administer Compensation Adjustments. This included increases associated with the Memorandum of Understandings, general pay increases to staff, as well as adjustments recommended through the Gallagher study (which was initially anticipated to be complete by July 1st). The category for "Compensation Adjustments" included sufficient funding to cover all employee groups including part-time and full-time, contract employees such as the Presiding Judge and City Manager, and the Mayor and Council whose pay is determined through a resolution which authorizes increases for Council equivalent to increases provided to employees.
