TITLE
PUBLIC HEARING:TXT26-03: a request by the City of Maricopa for miscellaneous text revisions to Chapter 18, Zoning Ordinance, of the Maricopa City Code. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
This is a request to formally amend the Maricopa City Code requesting a text revision to Chapter 18, Zoning Ordinance. The City initiated text amendment will allow for continued refinement of the City Code to reflect changes in policies and procedures, allow for clerical corrections, and address the overall accuracy and usability of the code. More specifically, the proposed amendment would accomplish the following:
Section 10.105.050 - Parking Area - The proposed change provides clear delineation as to where required storage lengths shall be measured from and that the minimum distance required shall be determined through a queuing analysis prepared in accordance with a Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA)/Traffic Impact Statement (TIS) and approved by the City Engineer.
Section 18.205.020 - List of Definitions - The proposed change adds Tattoo and Body Piercing establishments to the list of definitions and defines the difference between Tattoo - Body Art and Tattoo - Cosmetic.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Planning and Zoning Commission approve TXT26-03, miscellaneous amendments to Chapter 18, Zoning Ordinance, of the Maricopa City Code, as outlined in Exhibit B, and contained in the Planning and Zoning Commission staff report dated October 26, 2026.
