TITLE
An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, zoning certain property described in zoning case ZON12-03 for approximately 251.16 acres generally situated west of Anderson Road, south of Peters and Nall Road, east of the legal limit of the Ak-Chin Indian Community and along the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway within the City of Maricopa incorporated limits. The parcels of land are situated in a portion of section 15 of township 5 south, range 4 east of the Gila and Salt River base and meridian, Pinal County, Arizona. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Pursuant to A.R.S. §9-471(L), the City is initiating a change in zoning classification for all the properties in the recently annexed area, which was approved by the City Council with Ordinance 12-06 (Annexation 11-01) in order to apply the City’s zoning districts’ classification which is comparatively equivalent to the properties current County zoning classification. The City allowed and authorized County zoning to continue six months after the annexation was completed in August 2012.
On December 10, 2012, this case was presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission and it was unanimously voted for approval.
Therefore, and pursuant to A.R.S. §9-462.04(F), the City has the completed the public hearings and has informed all the residents within the annexed area that the substantially equivalent City Zoning classification will replace the County Zoning classification with the approval of this Ordinance by the City Council. This zoning will take effect 30 days after City Council approval of this Ordinance.
