TITLE
A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, adopting a Partnership Strategy to set forth the approach for expanding services by establishing strategic partnerships with the City of Maricopa. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City of Maricopa recognizes that strong partnerships with private businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals can significantly enhance the quality of life for residents. In particular, programs, events, and services that focus on the needs of teens and pre-teens, seniors, and the arts align with strategic priorities identified by the Mayor and City Council.
To encourage collaboration and leverage community resources, staff has prepared a resolution that establishes a City Partnership Strategy. This strategy will provide a framework for identifying, developing, and supporting partnerships with entities offering quality-of-life programs and services in the targeted focus areas.
The proposed strategy is designed to:
1. Strengthen the availability and diversity of programs for teens and pre-teens, seniors, and the arts.
2. Promote collaboration between the City and community partners to maximize impact and avoid duplication of services.
3. Ensure responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars by requiring clear agreements, measurable outcomes, and alignment with City priorities.
If adopted, the resolution will authorize City staff to develop guidelines for application, evaluation, and funding of partnership proposals and to bring forward recommendations for consideration as partnerships are developed.
