TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action to approve the Purchase and Sale Agreement with William Randall Cooper, for the purchase of approximately 1.48 acres of right-of-way (ROW) located at the southeast corner of Seven Ranch Rd and Whisker Rd in the amount of $322,344.00, and authorize the City Manager to execute the Agreement and any future amendments to extend the closing as he deems necessary as well as any closing documents related thereto. AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City of Maricopa has a Capital Improvement Project (CIP) to construct a collector roadway along Seven Ranch Road from Gunsmoke Road to Whisker Road. The proposed improvements include a two-lane roadway with curb and gutter, retention basin and a sidewalk along the north side of the roadway. As part of this improvement, the city will require approximately 0.23 acres of right-of-way along Mr. Coopers current residence frontage, and approximately 1.25 acres of the adjacent parcel for right-of-way and drainage/retention purposes. The parcels are generally located at the southeast corner of Seven Ranch Road and Whisker Road.
A Purchase and Sale Agreement has been prepared to acquire the required right-of-way (ROW) from the property owner, William Randall Cooper, at a rate of $5.00 per square foot.
Mr. Cooper has reviewed and approved the Purchase and Sale Agreement.
The funding for the project will be drawn from GL#30056161-67710-44031.
