TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approving a contingency transfer to complete the purchase of two MCC 7500 dispatch consoles from Creative Communications in an amount not to exceed $38,749. Staff is requesting Council consider a transfer of $38,749 from General Fund, Contingency (10010000-99000) to Police Support, Computer Equipment/Software (10022123-67744) to cover the remaining costs for two dispatch consoles. AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
As part of the transition of police dispatch services from Pinal County to the City of Buckeye, the Mayor and City Council approved a contingency transfer, on May 15, 2012, for the purchase of two dispatch consoles. As the decision was made to transition to the City of Buckeye late in FY11-12, it was unclear whether or not Creative Communications could deliver 100% of the equipment necessary to complete the order as there was a 6-8 week estimated delivery time.
The FY11-12 contingency transfer was $152,689. As of June 30, 2012, equipment and technology totaling $113,940 was received; and therefore, $38,749 of the transfer was not spent in FY11-12. Staff is requesting this contingency request from FY12-13 to complete the purchase.
The City's Police Department, Purchasing Division and Information Technology Division have worked diligently on obtaining the necessary equipment and transitioning police dispatch to the City of Buckeye.

Staff recommends approval of a contingency transfer to complete the purchase of two MCC 7500 dispatch consoles from Creative Communications.
