TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action on canceling the January 6, 2026, March 17, 2026, July 7, 2026, August 4, 2026, August 18, 2026, November 3, 2026 and December 15, 2026 City Council meetings. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Staff recommends that the following meetings be canceled in 2026:
January 6, 2026 - Holiday Break
March 17, 2026 - NLC Conference
July 7, 2026 - 4th of July Holiday
August 4, 2026 - Primary Election
August 18, 2026 - AZ League Conference
November 3, 2026 - General Election Day
December 15, 2026 - Holidays
Because both of the August meetings will need to be canceled, staff will request a special meeting sometime in August to canvass the election results. This has to occur within 20 days of the August 4th election.
