TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve the 2015-2017 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Maricopa Officers Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #78. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City of Maricopa and the Maricopa Officers Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #78 began negotiations in January 2015. Negotiations concluded in April 2015. This MOU is based on meetings between management staff and representatives of the Maricopa Officers Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #78. These meetings took place in accordance with the Meet and Confer Ordinance 11-09, Article VI of the City Code. The cost of this MOU is forecasted to be neutral for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 and Fiscal Year 2016-2017.
If approved, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Maricopa Officers Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #78 will be in effect for the period of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017.
The Maricopa Officers Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #78 have been professional during these negotiations with the City of Maricopa and their open communication and spirit of cooperation were appreciated.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Mayor and City Council approve the 2015-2017 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Maricopa Officers Council - Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #78.
