TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approving a purchase from San Tan Ford for one (1) 2015 Ford F550 XL Super Cab 4X2 pursuant to Section 3-223, “Cooperative Purchasing” of the City Code in an amount not to exceed $83,500.00. The expenditure will be paid from the Fire Development Impact Fees (DIF) Project-Fire Support, budget line (34422528-67742). Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
This request is to purchase One (1) 2015 Ford F550 XL Super Cab 4X2 and will be assigned to Fire Fleet Services. This vehicle is essential for day to day operations and is available for call out at any time, day or night, for apparatus repairs. This vehicle will contain the equipment needed by mechanic personnel to conduct needed repairs in the event an apparatus break down outside of routine maintenance intervals. Various repairs that this vehicle will assist in are emergency tire replacement, brake component repairs, cooling system repairs, pumping emergencies and air system repairs.
This purchase is being requested in conjunction with the Fire Department fleet replacement schedule. The purchased truck will replace a 10-year old, 2005 Ford Super duty pickup truck, which will be moved to Station 574 to pull trailers for community events and for crew transport to training. Approval of this request will enhance public safety by minimizing downtime and assist in the daily operations of the fire department by way of bringing in necessary equipment and supplies.
This request is based on Section 3-223 "Cooperative Purchasing" of the City Code. Staff seeks to utilize Arizona State Procurement Office Contract No. ADSPO12-016671 to procure the Ford F550 XL Super Cab.
