TITLE

This purchase is pursuant to Section 3-213, “Purchases in General” and Section 3-215 "Bidding Procedure" of the City Code in an amount not to exceed $450,000.00.  The expenditure will be paid from the Capital Improvements (CIP) line item 35022528-67741-32028. Discussion and Action.

 

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

This request is to purchase Fifty-one (51) Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), in addition to the packs; this purchase covers SCBA masks, tanks, regulators, buddy breathing systems and technical training to service the SCBA’s. The SCBA equipment is located on all vehicles for Fire Fighters and will be used to make entry in hazardous environments, perform rescues and keep Maricopa Firefighters safe by providing clean breathable air.  This new equipment will comply with the most current NFPA standards, equipping our firefighters with the safest, most advanced technology. Our current equipment complies with 2002 NFPA standards and has reached the end of its 15 year service life.   This equipment purchase has been identified in the 5 year CIP for replacement.
