AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
On 2/15/2011 the Mayor and City Council passed a resolution authorizing the submission of an application for the FY 11-12 State Community Development Block Grant Funds for the Maricopa Southside Water System Improvements Project.

On 4/3/2012 the Mayor and City Council accepted the grant award from the Arizona Department of Housing, State Community Development Block Grant Funds in the amount of $240,436. Of this amount $24,043.60 will be provided to Central Arizona Association of Governments to administer the CDBG Grant.  Approximately $216,392.40 will be provided to Maricopa Domestic Water Improvement District (MDWID).  Due to a smaller amount of funding, the scope of work for this CDBG project has been broken into phases, and the first phase is anticipated to cost $215,512.15. Attached to the staff report is an updated budget and scope of work from MDWID.

The Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Maricopa and Maricopa Domestic Water Improvement District will allow the two entities to work together to complete the project and ensure compliance with all grant requirements.
