TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approving a contract with Bruce Neely for lease of City-owned property known as the Santa Cruz Site, located north of Bowlin Road and east of White and Parker Road. The term of this lease shall be from May 1, 2012 to April 30, 2016. In lieu of payment, the lessee agrees to keep the property in production and clear of weeds. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The City owns property known as the Santa Cruz Site, located adjacent to Bowlin Road and east of White and Parker Road. The property in question surrounds the 20 acres that will be used for the City Complex currently under first phase of construction. This contract will allow Bruce Neely to lease this property for participation in a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) program. In lieu of a lease payment, Mr. Neely agrees to keep the property in agricultural production and to control weeds on site. This allows the City to benefit by not having to hire a contractor to provide weed control and clean-up and keeps the surrounding property green and productive.

Staff recommends approval of the contract with Bruce Neely for rental of City property known as the Santa Cruz Site.
