TITLE
A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, authorizing amendments to the Emergency Response and Recovery Plan (ERRP). Discussion and action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The ERRP helps reduce the loss of life and property from emergency incidents by providing an emergency management framework for City staff. This framework helps the City effectively manage and recover from emergency incidents, including floods, storms, weather extremes, wildfires, hazardous material releases, and terrorist events. It provides in-depth emergency management information and operating procedures, broken down by specific activities, to emergency responders and managers.
The City of Maricopa ERRP was adopted in 2007. Staff is proposing that it be amended and revised adding branding and formatting, removing certain annexes and appendices that are confidential in nature or bulk reference material. Also making confidential information and specific procedures City Manager approved Administrative Procedures. This request is based on changes in the workforce structure, operational need and the need to be responsive to changing conditions. The amended ERRP shall replace previous versions and shall be updated periodically and supported by Administrative Procedures for use and distribution.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adopting resolution of the ERRP replacing previous versions.
