TITLE
The Mayor and Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve a transfer in an amount not to exceed $35,000 from General Fund, Contingency (10010000-99000) to General Fund, City Manager, Professional and Occupational (10011115-53320) for professional services related to the City Manager recruitment. AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Staff has been directed to utilize an executive search firm for the current City Manager recruitment. The role of the firm is to develop a recruitment brochure, actively recruit potential candidates nationwide, evaluate applicants, recommend candidates for interview, conduct background investigations, and attend the interviews. The process also includes input from Council and staff regarding the needs of the City relative to the potential candidates.
Based on proposals received to date, staff is requesting a contingency transfer, not to exceed $35,000. The amount is based on estimated costs of the professional recruiting firm not to exceed $25,000 plus estimated travel and other expenses not to exceed $10,000.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
