TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve an award of contract to SDB, Inc. for construction services for the demolition and site clearing of La Roca Night Club in an amount not to exceed $45,001, which includes a price of $40,910 and a contingency of $4,091. This award will be under cooperative purchasing agreement utilizing the City of Chandler Job Order Contract, and is in accordance with City of Maricopa Purchasing Code, Article IV, Section 3-223, Cooperative Purchasing. The funding for the project will be drawn from Transportation DIF 2, Transportation, Streets Projects - Capital, SR347 Overpass Project - Honeycutt Road from SR347 to MCH Highway Improvements (32444146-67750-35021). AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The project consists of demolition and site clearing of the property located at 19599 N John Wayne Parkway, Maricopa, AZ 85139, including the former La Roca Night Club.
On January 15, 2013 the Mayor and City Council approved a resolution authorizing and directing the acquisition of all property necessary for the completion of the widening of Honeycutt Road within the city limits of Maricopa by dedication, donation, purchase exchange, or under the power of eminent domain as a matter of public necessity. According to the Order of Immediate Possession entered by the Pinal County Superior Court on April 18, 2013, the City of Maricopa currently possesses the property where La Roca Night Club used to operate. To ensure the protection of public safety, the vacated structures must be demolished and the site cleared of debris.
The requested not-to-exceed amount is comprised of the base contract amount ($40,910) and a ten percent contingency ($4,091).
