TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action on a request to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Pinal County for the purpose of providing election services for a special election to be held on November 7, 2023. Discussion and Action.

 

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The City would like to hold a special all-mail ballot election on November 7, 2023 for the purpose of selling real property valued at more than $1.5 million dollars. Pinal County requires that the City approve an IGA so that the Pinal County Recorder and Election Departments may provide voter registration and election services. Services provided by the County include, but are not limited to: preparing the ballot formats, mailing ballots to all registered voters within the City of Maricopa, ballot signature verification, and tallying the official results of the election.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends Mayor and City Council approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Pinal County for the purpose of providing election services for a special all-mail ballot election to be held on November 7, 2023.
