TITLE

An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, adopting that certain document filed with the City Clerk and entitled "2025 Amendments to Section 2.15.130, Standing Committee" by reference to amend sections 2.15.130 of the Maricopa City Code and providing for severability and the effective date thereof. Discussion and Action.

 

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

This code change adds a staff liaison to each standing committee and clarifies that the committees will obtain community feedback, conduct research and provide recommendations to council and staff on assigned topic areas. The change also adds that committees may be called upon to advocate for city initiatives that pertain to assigned topics to engage the community and promote transparency. Committees will also be required to report to council at least once a year on their activities.
