AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The City budgeted $45,000 to install new VHF equipment on the communications tower, however it is not needed.  Phoenix Fire Department informed us that they installed new equipment paid for by the 28 Fire Department consortiums and at no additional cost to the City of Maricopa.   We are requesting to use these funds to purchase the vehicle scheduled for 2018 CIP.  The vehicle we are replacing failed mechanical inspection and is out of service.

This purchase request is for One (1) 2017 Ford Explorer 4 WD SUV and will be assigned to Operations. This vehicle is essential for day-to-day operations. It is used for providing back up to Battalions during high call volume, attending meeting and day to day business.  It will be equipped with a Mobile Computer Terminal (MCT) to provide instant information from dispatch and used for community events.

This item will be presented by Chief Brady Leffler.
