TITLE

A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, approving and adopting the updated 2022 Pinal County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan and replacing all previously approved mitigation plans. Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to approve a resolution adopting the 2022 Pinal County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. Every five years, Pinal County and its communities meet to review and assess the plan. The plan enhances the ability for Pinal County and its communities, including the City of Maricopa, to mitigate hazards and obtain funding under FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) programs. To be eligible for funding, Pinal County and all participating jurisdictions must formally adopt the plan.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City of Maricopa formally adopt the 2022 Pinal County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.
