TITLE

A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona to approve the naming of the facility adjacent to City Hall (the former Police Department), currently being remodeled for additional City offices, to the “Development Center.” Discussion and Action.

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

The former Police Department building has been remodeled to provide additional office space for City operations and is tentatively designated as the “Development Center”, to signify a one-stop shop where development activity occurs in Maricopa. The additional office space will accommodate the relocation of the Development Services Department and Economic Development Department, creating additional synergy by having these teams work more closely together, while creating additional capacity within the existing City Hall to support future staff growth.

The "Development Center" title is common amongst municipalities, and is used in cities of various sizes across the state, including Phoenix, Tucson, Goodyear, Casa Grande, Nogales, and Surprise.

A mock-up of the signage have been created, and is attached for reference.
