TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approving the initiation of a multiple-department effort, including emergency responders, to pursue five (5) street name changes throughout the City in effort to improve public safety pursuant to the City Street Name Change Policy (Resolution 14-11). Discussion and Action.
 
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The applicant, City of Maricopa, is a requesting the Council initiate a Street Name Change for five (5) streets in accordance with the City Street Name Change Policy established by Resolution 14-11. The five (5) identified streets are local neighborhood roadways sharing very similar names to other roadways in the community. The similarities pose public safety concerns due to the potential for misdirection or miscommunication.  Refer to staff report attachment for a full analysis.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Mayor and Council initiate the City Initiation of Street Name Changes as described in the staff report.
