TITLE
A Resolution of the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona to name the Heritage District Fire Station after City of Maricopa long-time resident and former Maricopa Volunteer Fire Department Chief, Donald N. Pearce. Discussion and Action.
 
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Fire protection is and always has been a priority within the City of Maricopa and surrounding areas.  The City of Maricopa recntly awarded a design-build contract for a fire station within the Heritage District.  Vice Mayor Edward Farrell has proposed that the City honor long-time resident Donald Pearce by naming and dedicating the Heritage District's fire station as the "Chief Donald N. Pearce Fire Station" in honor of his commitment to fire protection in Maricopa.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 12-01.
