TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on a request by the Purchasing Manager to approve an Award of Contract to The Policy Development Group (PDG) for Lobbyist Services for the City of Maricopa and approval of a budgetary transfer in an amount not to exceed $78,000 from General Fund, General Government, Contingency (1001000-99000) to General Fund, City Manager, Professional and Occupational (10011115-53320) for the Lobbyist Services. This Award of Contract, in the amount of approximately $78,000 per fiscal year is in compliance with the City of Maricopa Purchasing Code, Section 3-215. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
This project was competitively solicited as a Request for Qualifications (RFQ)# 17-13 on August 4, 2016; evaluated by a City of Maricopa evaluation team, with subsequent presentations by three (3) companies (First Strategic, Policy Development Group, and AZ Capitol Connections) to City Council and in a public forum on October 4, 2016. Agenda Item #WSEPRES 16-29. A Best and Final Offer (BAFO) was submitted to PDG, and resulted in successfully obtaining a cost savings to the City of Maricopa of approximately $12,000 per fiscal year.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Mayor and City Council approve the Award of RFQ #17-13 Lobbyist Services for the City of Maricopa to the Policy Development Group and approve a budgetary transfer in an amount not to exceed $78,000 from General Fund, General Government, Contingency (1001000-99000) to General Fund, City Manager, Professional and Occupational (10011115-53320) for the Lobbyist Services Discussion and Action.
