TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Police Chief Steve Stahl. The ceremony will be officiated by Court Magistrate, the Honorable Scott Sulley. Immediately following the swearing-in, refreshments and a brief reception will be held in the lobby.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Effective Feb. 13, the appointment of Chief Steve Stahl to the position of Police Chief was made official by City Manager Brenda Fischer. The appointment followed Stahl's exceptional service as Interim Police Chief from Oct. 31, 2011 through Feb. 12, 2012.
This presentation is for a ceremonial swearing-in of Chief Stahl, followed by a brief reception in the lobby.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council's participation in the swearing-in ceremony and reception as an outward show of support for the appointment and Chief Stahl's dedication and service to the Maricopa community.
