TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall hear a presentation acknowledging the completion of the spring session of the Maricopa Citizens Leadership Academy (MCLA).
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Since 2008, the City has hosted a program that introduces Maricopa residents and business leaders to the inner workings of their local government. More than 145 residents have completed the program since that time.
The Citizens Leadership Academy provides an interesting perspective into the workings of Maricopa. Through a series of interactive and informative workshops, participants gain valuable knowledge of Maricopa that will prepare them to become a more active participant in the community.

The program costs approximately $300 each session which includes light refreshments, binders and certificates.
Due to the overwhelming success of the program, staff will be introducing an advanced Citizens Leadership Academy in the next fiscal year.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff would like to present the most recent graduates of the MCLA. No additional action is required.
