TITLE
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to enter into an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) between the City of Maricopa Police Department and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) for a one (1) year contract to enhance law enforcement services concerning vehicle theft through cooperative efforts. AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The intergovernmental agreement (IGA) will entail the Maricopa Police Department assign one (1) certified sworn law enforcement officer to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force (AVTTF) on a full-time basis. DPS agrees to reimburse the City of Maricopa Police Department on a quarterly basis, for 75% of the salary of the assigned police officer, phone, radio and 100% of pre-authorized Task Force related overtime hours. The term of the contract will be for one (1) year beginning January 01, 2013.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of this intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Department of Public Safety.
