AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

As part of the CIP Budget process, the Community Services Department requested the purchase of a portable sound system for use at City events.  In previous years, it has been the practice of the City to hire/rent sound equipment for the various events that are held throughout the year.  On several occasions, due to limited equipment availability, event sound performance quality was negatively impacted.

With this purchase, the City would be investing in its own professional sound system capable of any large-scale event including concerts, public meetings, stage performances, etc.).  This City-owned equipment would see significantly less hours of use each year than the equipment that is currently being used which would ensure quality sound performances at all of our events.

The system would also be modular to support any small event or multiple events at once if needed.

This item is being presented by Niesha Whitman, Special Events and Marketing Manager.
