TITLE
A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona, designating the City’s Chief Fiscal Officer for purposes of submitting the City's Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Expenditure Limitation Report to the Arizona Auditor General. Discussion and Action.
AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and possibly take action to adopt a resolution to designate Matt Kozlowski, Deputy City Manager/CFO, as the CFO for purposes of submitting the City’s Annual Expenditure Limitation Report (AELR) to the Auditor General and certifying to the accuracy of the report.
Arizona Revised Statutes §41-1279.07(E) requires “The governing body of each political subdivision shall provide to the auditor general by July 31 each year the name of the chief fiscal officer designated by the governing body of the political subdivision to officially submit the current fiscal year's expenditure limitation report on behalf of the governing body. The governing body of the political subdivision shall notify the auditor general of any changes of individuals designated to file the required reports. The designated chief fiscal officer shall certify to the accuracy of the annual expenditure limitation report.”
Proposal must address:
Matt Kozlowksi, Deputy City Manager, is hereby designated as the Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO) for purposes of submitting the City’s Annual Expenditure Limitation Report (AELR) to the Auditor General and certifying to the accuracy of the report.
This designation shall be in effect for the AELR for fiscal year 2025-26.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council adopt the Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Maricopa, Arizona supporting the designation of Matt Kozlowski, Deputy City Manager, as CFO for purposes of submitting and certifying the AELR for fiscal year 2025-26.
