TITLE

The Mayor and City Council shall discuss and take action on approving an Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Scottsdale for Fire Service training. Discussion and Action.

 

AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION

Shared training opportunities with the City of Scottsdale will strengthen regional coordination and enhance the ability of each agency to effectively provide fire protection and other public safety services within their respective jurisdictions and surrounding areas. Such training includes but is not limited to: Aircraft Rescue Firefighter (ARFF) Certification Training; Firefighter Recruit Training; Fire Inspector Training; Hazardous Material Technician (HZM) Certification Training; EMT/Paramedic Recertification Training (CORE); Technical Rescue Technician (TRT) Certification Training; and other required continuing education.

The City of Scottsdale offers a comprehensive fire service training program that provides certification courses, specialized firefighter training, and continuing education for fire service personnel. The program utilizes a modern training facility equipped for live-fire, technical rescue, hazardous materials, and emergency medical training, supporting regional collaboration and enhancing public safety readiness.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Scottsdale for Fire Service training.
