AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION
Council awarded the first Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP No. 1) to Haydon Building Corps on October 16, 2012, allowing for beginning of mass grading of the entire site including the Multigenerational Center/Aquatic Facility building pad preparation.  Subsequent GMPs were awarded for the water distribution, sanitary sewer, lake water supply, electrical service and sports lighting; construction of the lake, including associated mechanical equipment, the electrical conduit infrastructure and the electrical work associated with the parking lot and street lighting; and the roadway improvements to State Route 347, Bowlin Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard; parking lots and sidewalks; landscape and irrigation; amphitheater and stage area at great lawn; play courts and structures; skate park; baseball, softball, and multi-use fields; ramadas, restrooms, and concessions building; and maintenance facility.

The total GMP for the entire project is $22,313,057.49.  The project was completed on target, opening with the Multigenerational/Aquatic Facility in March of 2014.
Early in the development of the GMP, several items were removed from the project, to keep on budget.  After project completion, additional project funding remains and staff has the opportunity to complete those items excluded.
This change order will cover the installation of a decorative site wall at the outer loop of the Multi-Generational Center parking lot.  The site wall satisfies the zoning requirement to screen parking, which is required of all new development and redevelopment, and was deferred until funding was made available this fiscal year.
The change order also covers the installation of shade structures and concrete pads at the dog park, and baseball batting nets.

This item will be presented by Public Works Director William P. Fay.
